Embark on a rewarding school-based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) contract, starting August 27, 2026—the first day of school! This vital full-time opportunity covers a district-wide FMLA assignment for approximately 12 weeks, with potential for extension. You’ll deliver consistent occupational therapy support across all grade levels, from Pre-K to 12th grade, serving students with diverse needs throughout the district.

You will work closely under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, implementing treatment plans, supporting students as they strive to meet their goals, documenting progress, and actively collaborating with educators. Your role is essential to ensuring continuity of high-quality OT services during this leave period.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license (Connecticut DPH License & NBCOT exam passed)
  • Previous school-based OT experience highly preferred
  • Comfort working with students from Pre-K through 12th grade
  • Experience supporting individuals with varied disabilities
  • Reliable daily transportation is required
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Follow individualized plans crafted by the supervising OT
  • Work with students of all ages and abilities to promote independence and success in their education
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of sessions, student progress, and communications
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to ensure coordinated student support
  • Assist with adapting activities and the learning environment based on student needs
