Step into a dynamic opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) serving students across an entire school district near Torrington, CT. This full-time, contract position begins August 27, 2026, and will last approximately 12 weeks to cover an FMLA leave—with the potential for extension. Help shape student success by working with learners from Pre-K through 12th grade, delivering vital support under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide school-based occupational therapy services district-wide for a diverse range of students and needs.
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment and intervention plans to achieve student goals.
  • Document progress and ensure clear, accurate reporting for educational teams.
  • Participate actively in student support meetings, communicating observations and recommendations as part of a collaborative approach.
  • Adapt services seamlessly across multiple campuses and age groups.
  • Maintain up-to-date compliance with all state, district, and professional requirements.
  • Qualifications:

  • Active COTA license/certification (Connecticut DPH license and successful completion of NBCOT exam).
  • Previous school-based experience is preferred.
  • Comfort working with students aged Pre-K through 12th grade and across various disability populations.
  • Reliable transportation for travel between campuses as needed.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.
