Enjoy a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. This onsite role involves covering a maternity leave from August 17 (or as soon as possible) through September 28, working 21–28 hours per week (3 to 4 days). You’ll work closely with special education staff within self-contained autism programs, helping students achieve their IEP goals and reach their fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to students based on individual education plans.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to foster student access and participation.
  • Support development of functional skills within self-contained classroom settings.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and consultations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely therapy documentation according to school protocols.
  • Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant training program.
  • Certified (or eligibility for certification) as a COTA by the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a COTA in the State of Illinois.
  • Experience working with pediatric or school-based populations preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for working with diverse learners and making a positive impact in school environments.
