Make a lasting impact in the educational setting by supporting students’ growth and independence as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA). This full-time, contract assignment offers the opportunity to work across multiple school sites within a large, well-respected district near Schaumburg, IL, serving a broad range of students from Pre-K through age 22. Collaborate closely with experienced educators and therapy professionals in an engaging itinerant role.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active clinical license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Active educator license from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
  • Previous school-based COTA experience is preferred
  • Comfortable traveling between multiple school sites within the district
  • Passion for working with diverse students of all ages and abilities
  • Must complete time-sensitive credentialing requirements, including fingerprinting
  • Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site occupational therapy support to students in elementary, middle, and high schools (no virtual/remote work)
  • Implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals in collaboration with supervising OTs, teachers, and other staff
  • Adapt activities and environments to ensure student success and safety
  • Collect data, document progress, and communicate regularly with the educational team
  • Engage creatively with students to foster independence and daily living skills
  • Travel between assigned schools as part of an itinerant support team
