We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a school-based opportunity in Irvine, California. This position offers a consistent 25-hour-per-week schedule across five school days and is ideal for a COTA who enjoys helping students build the functional skills they need to succeed in the classroom.

Responsibilities
Provide school-based occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed OT.
Implement established treatment plans and IEP-related OT goals.
Support students with fine-motor, visual-motor, sensory-processing, handwriting, self-care, and functional skills.
Collect data and document student progress.
Assist students with strategies and accommodations that promote independence and classroom participation.
Collaborate with the supervising OT, teachers, special education staff, families, and related-service providers.
Requirements
Active California Occupational Therapy Assistant license through the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program with required fieldwork.
Current NBCOT certification if using the COTA designation. California requires an OTA using the COTA title to be both licensed and currently NBCOT-certified.
Ability to complete applicable school background check and fingerprinting requirements.
Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
Pediatric or school-based experience preferred.

California OTAs practice under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist; state regulations require ongoing OT oversight of the services provided by the assistant.
