As a valued member of the educational team, you’ll offer direct support to a small caseload of students, collaborating with school staff and adapting care strategies to individual needs. Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia COTA license required
  • Previous experience practicing as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), preferably in a school setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, educators, and families
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Adaptability and a collaborative approach in a dynamic educational environment
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy interventions to a select group of students based on outlined goals and IEPs
  • Document and track student progress, maintaining accurate records
  • Work closely with supervising OTs and school staff to ensure coordinated care and effective service delivery
  • Advise teachers and families on strategies to support students’ functional independence
  • Adapt activities and therapy approaches as needed to foster student engagement and growth
  • This part-time position, averaging just four hours per week, offers a flexible work arrangement and a pay rate between $35 to $42 per hour, depending on years of experience and educational background.
