Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students across Pre-K through 12th grade as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a dynamic school-based setting. This contract position begins August 27, 2026, and covers approximately 12 weeks during an FMLA leave, with the potential to extend. Your role will span the entire district, delivering essential occupational therapy services to students with a variety of needs, helping them achieve their goals and succeed in the classroom environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold an active COTA license or certification (CT DPH License and NBCOT exam required)
  • Previous school-based occupational therapy experience preferred
  • Comfortable working with students from Pre-K through high school, supporting diverse populations and disability categories
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families
  • Reliable transportation to travel between district campuses as needed
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement therapeutic interventions and treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
  • Carry out direct therapy sessions, adapting to student needs and IEP goals
  • Document student progress, collect data, and contribute to team meetings
  • Work closely with school staff to support students’ access to the educational environment
  • Flexibility to serve multiple campuses, collaborating with teams across the district
