Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Active COTA certification and current state licensure (or eligibility)
  • Previous experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations is highly valued
  • Ability to design and implement activities tailored to diverse student needs
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, families, and staff
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to respond to unique challenges in an educational environment
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of licensed occupational therapists to provide direct and consultative services to students
  • Implement individualized educational or therapy plans supporting student participation in classroom activities
  • Assist with documenting student progress, maintaining accurate records in accordance with school and regulatory requirements
  • Support the development and modification of classroom materials, tools, or strategies to enhance student access and independence
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute insights to support students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere
