Ideal background and qualifications:

  • Valid COTA certification and state licensure
  • Experience in school settings or working with children and adolescents, preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP planning, writing documentation, and implementing therapy goals
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Compassionate, patient, and creative approach to therapy
  • Ability to adapt activities for a variety of student needs and skill levels
  • Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Support students in classrooms and therapy spaces, focusing on improving fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living activities
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to design individualized student plans
  • Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies
  • Contribute to IEP meetings and assist with goal development
  • Provide education and strategies to staff and families to support student success
  • Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment
