Step into an engaging role supporting student success in the Port St. Lucie area as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This on-site position offers the opportunity to work across 3-5 school campuses, collaborating with other professionals to make a positive impact on diverse students from PreK through 12th grade. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through early June 2027, offering an extended opportunity to develop meaningful relationships and hone your skills in a rewarding school-based environment.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Current, active FL DOH Occupational Therapy Assistant license required
  • Previous experience as a COTA in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with students across a broad age range (PreK-12th grade)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills for collaborating with teachers, parents, and therapists
  • District requires up-to-date fingerprints (may utilize AHCA Clearinghouse records if previously processed)
  • Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
  • Support the development and implementation of individual and group interventions targeting fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills
  • Document student progress, maintain accurate service records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed
  • Manage scheduling and travel across multiple school sites within the Port St. Lucie area
  • Collaborate actively with school staff and family members to maximize student participation and independence
