Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in Illinois
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) required
  • Previous experience in school-based therapy or with pediatric populations preferred
  • Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation skills a plus
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities
  • Ability to work with a diverse population of K-12 students district-wide
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students as outlined in their IEPs
  • Collaborate closely with supervising Occupational Therapists, teachers, and support staff
  • Observe, assess, and document student progress and needs
  • Provide input in multidisciplinary team meetings and help develop intervention plans
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and fostering functional independence
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff to coordinate care and share progress
