Step into an impactful role supporting students ages 3 to 21 as a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the Houston-area. Work on-site in a dynamic school setting, assisting an Occupational Therapist across six to seven schools within a well-defined zone, thoughtfully assigned with your commute in mind. This is a contract position for the 2026-2027 school year, running from August 11, 2026, to May 26, 2027.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Texas COTA license required
  • Substantial experience in school settings or pediatrics is essential
  • Previous employment with this school district is not eligible
  • Full-time availability (37.5 hours per week)
  • Ability to conduct evaluations and participate in ARD meetings
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills; experience with SHARES or Onward software a plus
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students, maintaining a manageable caseload (approximately 30-40 students receiving direct care, with a broader caseload of about 70, most consult only)
  • Follow a rotating service schedule; most students are not seen weekly, but according to need
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to support student success and IEP goals
  • Conduct and report on evaluations as needed
  • Accurately maintain required documentation using school health software and personal logs
