ProCare Therapy is partnering with a school district in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to recruit a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for the 2024-2025 school year. Position Details:

  • Type: Full-time
  • Location: On-site in Oklahoma City, OK
  • Caseload: K-12 students
  • Compensation: $30-35/hr

    Job Description:

  • Deliver Occupational Therapy Services: Provide occupational therapy services in a school setting under the supervision of a licensed therapist. Assist in implementing therapy plans and interventions.

  • Collaborate with Educators and Staff: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement tailored therapy plans. Ensure therapy goals are integrated into students' educational programs.

  • Assess Students’ Needs: Conduct assessments to determine students' needs, focusing on motor skills, sensory processing, and daily activities. Monitor and document student progress.

  • Lead Therapeutic Activities: Conduct individual and group therapeutic activities designed to enhance motor skills, coordination, and independence. Utilize various techniques to support student development.

  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep detailed records of therapy sessions, student progress, and any adjustments to therapy plans. Ensure compliance with school policies and professional standards.

  • Train School Staff: Provide training to teachers and other school staff on supportive techniques and accommodations to help students succeed. Share knowledge on adaptive equipment and strategies.

  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Meetings: Engage in team meetings to discuss student progress and collaborate on best practices. Stay informed on the latest developments in occupational therapy through continuous professional development.

    Requirements:

  • Preferred: Previous experience in school or pediatric environments
  • Required: Possession of COTA license and relevant teaching certifications for Oklahoma
  • Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and colleagues
