Blazer Jobs is actively recruiting for a full-time contract Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a school-based position in Coos Bay, OR. We are looking for a skilled professional with experience in special education to join our team and contribute to the development and implementation of effective therapy programs for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Therapy Plans: Deliver occupational therapy sessions as designed by Occupational Therapists, focusing on enhancing students' functional abilities and academic performance.
  • Adapt Therapy Activities: Tailor therapeutic interventions and activities to meet the specific needs of each student, ensuring that the approach is both effective and engaging.
  • Document and Report Progress: Maintain detailed records of student progress, behavior, and response to therapy. Provide regular updates and comprehensive reports to supervising Occupational Therapists and educational staff.
  • Collaborate with Educational Teams: Work in partnership with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into students' individualized education plans (IEPs) and daily classroom activities.
  • Support and Educate Families: Offer support and guidance to families, including strategies to reinforce therapy goals at home and address any questions or concerns they may have.

    Qualifications:

  • Must meet all local and state requirements for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Experience with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
