Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our school-based team in Norton, CA. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide therapy services to students with diverse needs, helping them to develop and improve their daily living and academic skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing treatment plans designed to improve students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups, following the OT’s guidance.
  • Monitor and document student progress, and report observations to the supervising OT.
  • Prepare and organize therapy materials and activities that support the students' goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy strategies into the classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of therapy sessions and student progress.

    Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Valid COTA license or certification in California.
  • Experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
