Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time | School-Based | Oakland, CA
Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTAs) for a full-time school-based role in the Oakland, California area. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping students thrive through high-quality therapeutic support.
Position Overview:
Location: Oakland, CA and surrounding school districts
Schedule: Full-Time, School Hours
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Term: Current academic year with potential renewal based on performance
Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet all California state and local credentialing requirements, including:
Associate’s degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Active California licensure through the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT)
Current NBCOT certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)
School-based or pediatric experience preferred
Must meet all background check and school district onboarding requirements
Typical Responsibilities:
Deliver direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
Support the implementation of individualized education programs (IEPs) through targeted interventions
Address fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care, and classroom participation needs
Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes for each student
Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support students’ success
Participate in IEP meetings and help develop therapy goals and strategies
