Job Details:

  • Onsite assignment near Porterville,CA 
  • Pay Range: $36+/hr (depending on experience) 
  • Full 2024-2024 School Year
  • Full Time position, 37.5 hours/week
  • ASAP Start - May 2025
  • PreK-12th grade caseload age groups
  • May be working with non-verbal students
  • Supporting virtual OT
  •  1 or multiple school sites (mileage can be reimbursed between sites)
  • More caseload/position details to be provided during zoom interview process

    Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in evaluating and treating students with special needs
  • Implement treatment plans in collaboration with the Occupational Therapist
  • Help students develop skills for daily living and educational activities
  • Document student progress and communicate with teachers, parents, and other professionals
  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Plan) meetings and provide input regarding therapy goals
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities

    Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • California State State licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • Prior experience working with children with special needs in a school or clinical setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment is a plus
