Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time | School-Based | Lovington, NM

Blazer Jobs is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a full-time position in school districts located in the Lovington, New Mexico area. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate professional to provide meaningful support to students in a school-based setting.

Position Details:

  • Location: Lovington, NM and nearby districts

  • Type: Full-Time

  • Schedule: School hours

  • Start Date: Immediate

  • Contract Term: Current school year, with potential renewal based on performance

    Qualifications – Required for Consideration:

    Applicants must meet the following New Mexico state and local requirements:

  • Associate’s degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Active COTA license issued by the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department – Board of Occupational Therapy

  • NBCOT certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)

  • School-based or pediatric experience preferred

  • Must meet all applicable background and fingerprinting requirements for New Mexico public schools

    Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapy services to students under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist

  • Support students in achieving their IEP goals through targeted intervention strategies

  • Address fine motor development, sensory integration, self-care skills, and classroom task participation

  • Maintain accurate progress notes and service logs

  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and other support professionals

  • Participate in IEP meetings and assist with treatment planning and implementation
