    COTA Requirements to Work in Milwaukee Schools
    To work as a school-based COTA in Milwaukee, WI, you’ll need:

  • An Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • A valid COTA license from the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services

  • A valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) License or an equivalent credential specific to school districts

  • Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred

  • CPR and First Aid certification
