We are currently seeking a dedicated and qualified Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our team in Lake Villa, IL. Position Overview:
As a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) with ProCare Therapy, you will assist an Occupational Therapist (OT) in providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to students across the district. You will work collaboratively with the OT, teachers, parents, and other school staff to implement effective therapy plans that support students' educational goals and promote their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Occupational Therapist (OT) in conducting assessments to identify students' functional needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Support the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Provide direct occupational therapy services to students, utilizing evidence-based practices under the supervision of the OT.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom environment.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on students' goals and progress.
  • Educate and support school staff and parents on techniques to support students' occupational therapy needs.

    Qualifications:

  • Current Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license in the state of IL.
  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
  • Experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations is preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
