Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - School District Near Rockford, IL

Soliant Health is currently seeking a motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a full-time position within a school district near Rockford, IL. This opportunity offers an immediate start and extends until the end of the school year.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with occupational therapists to assess students' functional abilities and develop individualized treatment plans

Provide direct occupational therapy services to students based on their IEP goals and needs

Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations to monitor students' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary

Implement therapeutic activities and interventions to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, visual-motor integration, and activities of daily living

Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and other required paperwork

Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other members of the educational team to support students' academic and functional success

Qualifications:

Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Current licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Illinois

Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred

Knowledge of educational and developmental needs of students in a school setting

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet the needs of a diverse caseload
