ProCare Therapy is working with a specialized school in Rhode Island that is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join their related services team. This setting offers a unique and supportive opportunity to work with students who require a more restrictive educational environment, with full collaboration from a multidisciplinary team.
Position Overview:
Location: North Providence, RI
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Open to full-time or part-time candidates
Caseload: Average of 20–25 students, depending on service frequency
Student Population: Ages 5–22 with varying intellectual disabilities and behavioral needs
Support Structure: COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) and collaborate with a full team of professionals, including BCBA, PT, APE, speech therapists, counselors, and special educators
About the School:
This is a position serving students from districts across Rhode Island who benefit from a highly structured, therapeutic learning environment. Most students exhibit behavioral challenges and receive services under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. The school provides a full spectrum of related services and emphasizes a team-based, student-centered approach.
Requirements:
Associate's degree from an accredited COTA program
Active Rhode Island COTA license
Previous experience in a school or behavioral setting preferred
