Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) – Full-Time | School-Based | Norwalk, CT
Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants (COTAs) for a full-time school-based position in the Norwalk, Connecticut area. We’re seeking professionals who are passionate about supporting students’ growth and success in educational environments.
Position Details:
Location: Norwalk, CT and nearby school districts
Job Type: Full-Time, School Calendar
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Term: Current school year, with performance-based renewal opportunities
Minimum Qualifications – Required to Apply:
Associate’s degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Current Connecticut state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant issued by the Connecticut Department of Public Health
NBCOT certification (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy)
School-based or pediatric experience preferred
Must pass all local school district background and fingerprinting requirements
Typical Responsibilities:
Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist
Implement IEP-based goals and interventions for students with various physical, sensory, or cognitive needs
Assist students in improving fine motor skills, self-care tasks, and classroom participation
Document session notes, maintain accurate records, and report progress
Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to treatment planning
