Position Overview: As a School-Based Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) with ProCare Therapy, you will assist in providing comprehensive occupational therapy services to students in a school setting. You will work closely with students, teachers, parents, and other school staff to develop and implement individualized therapy plans that support students' educational goals and promote their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting assessments to identify students' functional needs related to fine motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment plans based on assessment results.
  • Assist in providing direct occupational therapy services to students, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom environment.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on students' goals and progress.
  • Educate and support school staff and parents on techniques to support students' occupational therapy needs.

    Qualifications:

  • Current Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) license in the state of MD.
  • Experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations is preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
